Feature
● Compatible with 187, 205, and 250 Series Flag Terminals in One Applicator
The EW-09H021 accommodates three of the most widely used insulated flag terminal widths — 187 (4.75mm), 205 (5.2mm), and 250 (6.35mm) — within the same 30mm stroke applicator body. Flag terminals in these three series are the standard quick-disconnect format used in automotive body wiring, appliance internal wiring, and industrial control panel connections worldwide. Supporting multiple terminal widths in one applicator reduces the tooling inventory required on production lines that process mixed terminal sizes across the same wire gauge range.
● Scale Fine-Tuning Die Adjustment for Precise Crimp Height
The crimp die position is adjusted via a scale (graduated) fine-tuning mechanism, allowing the technician to set crimp height to a defined scale graduation rather than through a trial-and-error approach. This mechanism provides repeatable adjustment reference points — if a crimp height setting is documented for a specific terminal and wire combination, it can be recalled and re-set to the same graduation value when the applicator is reinstalled after cleaning or storage. This reference-based adjustment is more reliable than ungraduated screw adjustment on production lines with frequent applicator changes.
● Fits Fully Automatic and Semi-Automatic Crimping Machines
The EW-09H021 is designed to fit both fully automatic terminal crimping machines (such as the Eastontech EW-09 series electrical terminal press) and semi-automatic (pedal-operated) bench crimping machines with a matching 30mm stroke. The 30mm feeding block dimension is the standard format for this applicator family. For machines with a different stroke dimension, see the related EW-09H031 enlarged cylinder pneumatic applicator or contact Eastontech for a custom stroke configuration.
Application Range
Automotive body harness and lighting connector assembly
187 and 250 series flag terminals are the standard quick-disconnect format for automotive body harness connections — door module connectors, exterior lighting pigtails, horn connectors, and accessory power feeds where the right-angle (flag) orientation allows the terminal to exit the connector housing perpendicular to the wire run. The EW-09H021 applicator enables automated crimping of these terminals on Eastontech EW-09 series presses at the throughput rates required for automotive Tier 1 harness sub-assembly production.
Home appliance internal wiring
Washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, and kitchen appliances use 187 and 205 series insulated flag terminals for internal wiring connections to motors, heating elements, and control boards — applications where the flag orientation prevents terminal pull-out under vibration and allows single-hand blind insertion during assembly. The EW-09H021 applicator supports both the single-wire and multi-wire flag terminal configurations used in appliance wiring.
Industrial control panel and relay wiring
Control panel builders use 250 series flag terminals on relay coil connections, solenoid wiring, and auxiliary contact leads where quick-disconnect capability is required for field replacement of relay modules without cutting and re-splicing the wiring harness. The EW-09H021's compatibility with semi-automatic bench crimping machines suits the low-to-medium volume terminal crimping typical of control panel assembly operations.
Aftermarket and replacement wiring harnesses
Aftermarket automotive accessory manufacturers producing replacement wiring harnesses, trailer connectors, and accessory power kits use 187 and 250 series flag terminals as the standard quick-disconnect format for service-friendly connector assemblies. The EW-09H021 applicator supports both fully automatic and semi-automatic crimping, accommodating production volumes from small batch aftermarket assembly to higher-volume OEM replacement harness production.
