Description

Feature

30W CO2 laser stripping — zero conductor damage on AWG18–30 wire

The EW-9905 uses a 30-watt CO2 laser (10.6μm wavelength) to remove wire insulation without mechanical contact. At this wavelength, PVC, PE, and PTFE insulation materials strongly absorb laser energy and vaporize cleanly, while bare copper conductors reflect the same wavelength with over 98% efficiency — making conductor contact physically impossible. This selective absorption property eliminates the nicking, scoring, and strand breakage associated with rotary-blade or V-blade mechanical stripping, making the EW-9905 the correct solution for fine-gauge sensor wires (AWG26–30) and ultra-thin-wall insulation where blade contact tolerance is insufficient.

5-wire simultaneous parallel processing — up to 5× throughput vs. single-wire machines

The EW-9905 feeds and processes up to five wires in parallel through the laser stripping and tinning stations in a single machine cycle. This parallel architecture means the per-wire effective cycle time is a fraction of sequential single-wire processing — enabling high-volume production of fine-wire assemblies without proportionally scaling floor space or headcount. All five wire positions are independently programmable for strip length (4–12mm) and cut length (35–1000mm), accommodating mixed-length production runs within a single job program.

Dual-head automatic tinning with integrated flux application

Following laser stripping, each wire end is transported to the EW-9905's dual-head soldering station, where flux is automatically applied to the stripped conductor before immersion tinning. The dual-head configuration matches the parallel wire-feed architecture, ensuring both ends of each wire can be tinned in a single pass. Automatic flux application ensures consistent solder wetting on copper strands across the full AWG18–30 range, eliminating the variation in tinning quality caused by manual flux application in conventional dip-tinning workflows.

Non-contact stripping — intact outer insulation, no fraying, no residue

Because the CO2 laser energy is fully absorbed within the insulation layer depth without thermal bleed-through to the underlying jacket, the outer insulation surface adjacent to the strip window remains intact and free of heat discoloration, cracking, or fraying. This clean strip edge is critical for applications where insulation appearance is inspected (automotive OEM visual standards) and for processes where the stripped conductor will be inserted into a connector housing with a tight insulation grip diameter.

LCD interface laser parameter control — simple to operate, program-storable

Laser power, pulse frequency, stripping speed, and strip/cut length parameters are all configured through an integrated LCD control interface. Job programs are stored in the machine's onboard memory and recalled by program number, enabling operators to switch between wire types and job specifications in seconds without re-entering parameters. The system is designed for operator-level usability — no laser engineering background is required for day-to-day operation or job changeovers.

Adjustable stripping and cutting lengths — full range programmability

Strip length is programmable from 4 to 12mm; cut length from 35 to 1000mm. Both parameters are set independently per program file and apply uniformly across all five wire channels in parallel mode. The pneumatically actuated wire feed and positioning system (0.6–0.8MPa supply) maintains dimensional repeatability across all five channels simultaneously, ensuring consistent strip and cut dimensions throughout production runs.

Compact benchtop platform — 400kg, self-contained laser + tinning system

At 205×93×183cm and 400kg, the EW-9905 integrates the laser stripping module, dual solder baths, flux dispensing system, wire feed mechanism, and control electronics into a single self-contained machine footprint. AC220V / 50–60Hz power supply with no additional laser cooling infrastructure required (air-cooled CO2 laser module). This consolidation eliminates the multi-machine floor space requirement of separate strip-then-tin workflow configurations.

Application Range

Medical device cable assembly — The EW-9905 is used in medical device manufacturing to laser-strip fine-gauge signal and sensor cables (AWG26–30) where mechanical stripping would produce unacceptable conductor strand damage on silver-plated or tin-plated copper conductors used in diagnostic, monitoring, and implantable device assemblies. The zero-contact stripping process eliminates the strand breakage failure mode that compromises conductor cross-section integrity.

Automotive sensor & control wire harness — The EW-9905 is deployed by Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers to process the fine-gauge sensor wires (thermocouples, oxygen sensors, ABS wheel speed sensors, AWG28–30) in vehicle harnesses, where insulation wall thickness tolerances are below the reliable capability of rotary-blade strippers. The built-in program storage function enables full job traceability linked to production batch records.

Aerospace & defense wire processing — The EW-9905 is used in high-precision wire assembly operations to strip PTFE and ETFE insulated wire. These lightweight, heat-resistant insulations are widely adopted for high-end wiring but notoriously difficult to strip cleanly with mechanical blades without damaging internal conductors. The non-contact laser process meets the zero-nick requirement for flight-critical wiring without the tooling qualification burden of blade-based processes.

Consumer electronics & data cable assembly — The EW-9905 is used in high-volume consumer electronics wire assembly (USB cables, headphone wiring, laptop power cables) to simultaneously laser-strip and tin five fine-wire conductors per cycle, supporting the throughput requirements of contract electronics manufacturers processing millions of cable assemblies per month.

Industrial sensors & instrumentation — The EW-9905 is used in thermocouple wire processing, RTD sensor lead preparation, and precision instrument wiring where conductor damage during stripping introduces measurement error or long-term reliability degradation. The clean strip window and zero residue characteristic of CO2 laser stripping eliminates the insulation fragment contamination risk in precision assembly environments.
