Feature
● Brush, Cut, and Fold Back — Calibrated for Fine-Gauge Cable
The EW-1190 brushes the exposed shield braid straight, cuts it to the programmed length, then folds the remaining section back over the jacket — all within a single automated cycle calibrated for cables in the 2.5–6.0mm outer diameter range. This fine-gauge calibration is what distinguishes it from Eastontech's larger-diameter EW-1060: the brush and cutting mechanism geometry is sized for the thinner braid density and smaller jacket diameter typical of mobile device cables and thin data cables.
● Continuously Adjustable Fold-Back Length (3–10mm)
Unlike preset-based fold-back length selection, the EW-1190 allows the folded-back braid length to be set anywhere within the 3–10mm range on the touchscreen. This continuous adjustment gives finer control over the finished termination geometry, which matters more on small-diameter cables where the available jacket surface area for the folded braid to grip is proportionally smaller than on larger cables.
● Foot Switch Operation with Integrated Waste Containment
A foot switch initiates the cycle, keeping both hands free for precise positioning of fine-diameter cable — particularly important near the 2.5mm lower limit, where small misalignment has a larger relative impact on cut and fold-back accuracy than on thicker cables. The integrated waste receiving box captures cut metal braid fragments, preventing workspace contamination from loose, sharp shavings.
● High-Definition Touchscreen with Protective Cover
All process parameters are set on a high-definition digital touchscreen, with a protective cover over the brushing and cutting mechanism for operator safety during the automated cycle.
Application Range
Mobile device fast-charging and USB cable production
USB-C and proprietary fast-charging cables — typically 2.5–4mm in outer diameter — increasingly incorporate shielded data conductors for EMI suppression at higher charging currents. The EW-1190's fine-gauge calibration is specifically sized for this cable diameter range, where the EW-1060's larger mechanism geometry would be oversized for precise, consistent processing.
Thin shielded data and signal cable termination
Small-diameter instrumentation and signal cables in the 2.5–6.0mm range used in compact electronic devices and sensor wiring require braid shield preparation at a scale the EW-1190 is purpose-built for, where the continuously adjustable 3–10mm fold-back length accommodates the tighter clamp geometries typical of miniature connectors.
Consumer electronics internal shielded cable assembly
Internal shielded cables connecting components within laptops, tablets, and compact consumer devices use fine-gauge shielded constructions within the EW-1190's operating range, where production volumes of 700–1,000 pcs/h support the high-mix, fast-changeover requirements of consumer electronics assembly.
Automotive fine-gauge sensor cable shield termination
Compact automotive sensors using thin shielded cable leads (2.5–6mm) for grounding clip or shield clamp termination benefit from the EW-1190's precision at this smaller diameter range, distinct from the heavier shielded sensor cables the EW-1060 is calibrated for.
